Techweek begins nationwide on Saturday 6th May. The full schedule of Tauranga’s Techweek events is below:

Mashup: 6-7 May – is a weekend event for youth. Delivering a unique learn-by-doing experience for school-aged entrepreneurs. Teams of four students have 48 hours to mash tech and business skills to find a customer, develop a product idea, create a business plan and build a prototype with the help of awesome mentors. The challenge culminates in a final team pitch to a panel of judges. Supported by generous sponsors, Mashup is a free event.

Talking Tech Everywhere: 7 May – A podcast road-trip from Auckland to Wellington, calling in on the North Island’s tech hubs and sharing their stories including those from Mashup in Tauranga.

Design Thinking Meetup: 9 May – Ever wondered how design thinking and ideation techniques could help you and your business? Bring your idea or concept to the Ideation Sessions and see your small spark ignite an inferno with Tauranga’s Design Thinking gurus.

Technology for Smarter Business Expo: 10 May – Bay of Plenty business people will have the opportunity to discover the latest innovative technology that could transform their business and underpin its growth at this Expo of local digital service suppliers at Bay Court all day.

Co-working Day: 11 May – Co-working is about removing barriers to future business models, starting with the physical environment you work from and the people you interact with on a daily basis. Co-working brings smart, creative people together and let’s ideas collide. Come and look around or experience a day co-working for yourself.

Tauranga Web Meetup: 11 May – This group is for professionals working in the web industry: designers, developers, analysts, business owners, project managers, DBAs, Sys Admins. It provides an opportunity to find out what other web people in Tauranga are up to and share knowledge and ideas.

Digitally Empowering People: 11 May – Event to launch the Digital Enablement Plan with special guest Ross Young from Google New Zealand. Ross will present the Google for Small Business contribution to the plan alongside three local businesses who will present on their experience using technology to grow their business at Toi Tauranga Art Gallery.

Celebratech: 12 May – Friday’s Tauranga Techweek finale event at Toi Ohomai’s Wyndemere campus is a social event including presentations from organisations using or developing new technologies. Presentations include: Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology’s research projects, including new farming technology; WNT Ventures incubation companies including Mark Wilcox, Blockchain expert from Nyriad; and Bay of Plenty based technology companies who have received investment from local Enterprise Angels members.
