AVONMORE TERTIARY INSTITUTE

Website: www.avonmorebop.ac.nz

The Avonmore building, at 38 Selwyn St, Tauranga City, was built specifically with computing in mind and is now a major centre for IT focused learning. A typical day studying at Avonmore begins at 8am and finishes at 2:30pm, Monday to Thursday, and depending on which part of the programme they are up to, students might be building machines, fixing machines, learning about and building servers or working through the functionality of the network itself from Microsoft Small Business Server to Windows Server 2008.

Avonmore provides NZQA approved training, from Levels 5 through to 7, for people wanting to either enter the Computing Industry as Technicians or as entry level Computer Network Engineers.  Students benefit from Avonmore’s computer laboratories, commercial grade equipment and the collective experience of a tutoring team with extensive industry backgrounds. Avonmore has Microsoft IT Academy status; students are able to complete their CompTIA and Microsoft exams right here at Avonmore.

At Avonmore, our students are exposed to relevant technologies, practices, and procedures essential to gain employment in the I.T. industry.  There is a 3-year training programme from Levels 5 through to Level 7.  Students will also complete international Certifications such as A+, Network+, MCITP and CISCO.
