Western Bay of Plenty ICT Cluster
The Western Bay of Plenty ICT Cluster was established by economic development organisation Priority One in 2003, recognising the high-value opportunity of the sector to lift productivity and its status as a powerhouse of economic growth in its own right. There are currently over 600 members from around 230 ICT and related businesses, including the IT departments in all the large corporates operating from the sub-region. A key area of focus for the cluster is information sharing to encourage synergies and collaboration to grow the sector for individual and mutual benefit. Local companies have gained tangible benefits from cluster membership, including access to skilled staff, delivery of joint projects, resource sharing opportunities and access to technical expertise and information. Members have a broad range of skills focused on delivering best of breed solutions to New Zealand’s key export markets. Every two years a technology expo is hosted, providing a platform for local businesses to promote their products and services to the wider business community. Priority One is very keen to talk to any technology company that is considering relocating their business to Tauranga or the Western Bay of Plenty. We can assist you in making this transition in many ways, including finding suitable office accommodation, recruiting skilled staff and connecting you with the technology networks that operate locally.
